Aroza Crew Q&A

Q). How things with you?

Pretty busy, we play a lot of shows right now, next to our regular jobs.

Q). Where did the whole Aroza Crew journey all begin?

Each of us separately was making music for kind of forever, especially our DJ who is an old-school dude who released his first record in 1995. But as a crew, we formed in 2017.

Q). Your EP ‘Asphalt‘ is available now. How has the response been so far?

Pretty amazing. We play tonnes of shows right now.

Q). Whats it like being in the studio with you guys?

I guess not much different than with other people. First we light up something to smoke and then start working.

Q). How would you describe your sound?

There is no certain sound we work on. It is different from track to track and depends on moods, inspiration etc. One track is 90's golden era style, next one can be trap or grime or drill and then on other days something completly else. Maybe business wise this is not the best idea, but we just want to make tracks and play shows with it.

Q). Is there anybody who you would love to do a track with?

Kendrick Lamar, Joey Badass, Q-Tip, Freddie Gibbs, GreenteaPeng, Sampa the Great, Earthgang, Griselda, Tokimonsta, Channel Tres, the list is kinda endless

Q). Who is your biggest influence?

We would call it inspiration rather than influence. And that can be anything or anybody. A spectacular show performed by a huge rapper like Joey Baddass or just by some random kids in the local youth center. Or when you discovered new music or something very old you can flip and sample. But also the way you can express your feelings by writing music and just putting a whole project together in general is an inspiration. Also when we write rhymes together we inspire each other.

Q). Why did you choose to get into the music industry?

We didnt choose the music industry by purpose. We just made music and wanted to get heared. Then you started to play shows. The rest then followed.

Q).
Whats the Hip Hop scene in Munich and Germany in general like?

Compared to the size of Munich, the Hip Hop scene is pretty small. But from what people told us, Munich used to be one of the dopest places for HipHop in Germany due to the American Military Base, which was closed a long time ago. There were quite some Bands that made an impact, national and international, like Square One, Abstract Art, and Main Concept, just to mention a few worth checking out.

Q). What would you say is your biggest achievement in music so far?

So far we relesed only single tracks. This is the first time we finished a whole EP.

Q). What can we expect from you in 2022?

We are working on an EP entierly produced by Flip from Austria. Flip already produced beats for a lot of indie Rap artists in the states, like Ed OG, Elzhi, Phat Kat, AG, GuiltySimpson and Masta Ace. Timmy is working on a solo EP with his cousin from Manchester UK. Hopefully both projects will be released within 2022.
