Eff Yoo Q&A

Q). Hows things with you?

Living bro, making music, making money, you know how it is.

Q). Where did the whole Eff Yoo journey all begin?

Shit man, I was born in Peru, I was raised in Queens, my whole life has been a hustle, Eff Yoo’s journey began in the streets as cliche as it may sound, just trying to find my way in the world. Lots of books, lots of experience, lots of music.

Q). Your single ‘Charismatic Disrespect’ with Rob Viktum is available now. Tell us more about that?

Me and Rob linked up over the pandemic, he asked if I’d be down to jump on a track for a producer EP series he was working on, and he just sent bangers for me to choose from, I sent him back a heater called “Auto Buff” Which is included on our EP also titled Charasmatic Disrespect, available everywhere.

Q). Whats it like being in the studio with Eff Yoo?

Shit up until about 5 years ago, I’d say chaotic, very much like a party, women, drugs, friends. But at a certain point I started taking it seriously, now, unless my friends are at the session, it’s strictly business.

Q). How would you describe your sound?

My sound charismatic disrespect, that’s how I came up with the title, rap isn’t about trying to teach or give a profound statement, it’s about entertaining and trying to I press myself and my peers.

Q). Is there anybody who you would love to do a track with?

Slick Rick, Nas, Radiohead, Billy Joel

Q). Who is your biggest influence?

I’m this music shit? Slick Rick, Nas, Radiohead, Billy Joel, lol MF Doom definitely, Aesop Rock, Hector Lavoe, my team (Spit Gemz, Aye Wun) In life? My family.

Q). Why did you choose to get into the music industry?

I’ve been around hip hop, involved somehow in one of the elements since I was 6, I got the gift of gab, I’m a wordsmith, super charismatic, it just fell on my lap to be honest, wasn’t a decision, I’m too good not to do it.

Q). What would you say is your biggest achievement in music so far?

I don’t care about money, tours, features, non of that, my biggest achievement is getting not only props but praise from top tier MC’s like Sean Price RIP, Prodigy RIP, Method Man, Tragedy, Spit Gemz, UG, that can’t be taken for granted

Q). What can we expect from you for the rest of the year?

Working on another EP with Rob, tba, working on an EP with Deep from 2hungrybros, we got a song out now called Warwick Davis, have a small 4 track release with level13, me and my brother spit Gemz dropped an album last year called Rikers Island Boxing School, we working. On part 2 now.

Q). Do you have any social media for new fans to follow you?
