Vivi Q&A

Q). How things with you?

All is great thanks! I’ve just released an EP, VENI VIDI VIVI, and I’m focusing all my energies on that. So far the support and feedback has been amazing.

Q). Where did the whole Vivi journey all begin?

It began in Italy when my dad bought me my first karaoke set. From then on, I have been singing nonstop. I wrote my first song when I was 10 and then started taking seriously once I moved in the UK 9 years ago.

Q). Your E.P ‘Veni Vidi Vivi’ is available now. How has the response for that been?

Like I said before so far it has been great! I’ve been receiving lots of positive comments and gained a few more listeners which is fantastic. It has a lot of different sounds and it seems there’s a vibe for everyone.

Q). Whats it like being in the studio with Vivi?

Hmm that’s a good question. I start off really quiet, I like to read the room and focus on the sound we’re working on. Once that is locked in, I start writing until the verse is complete. I also like to get in the studio prepared, so I usually warm up and practice at home before getting there.

Q). How would you describe your sound?

Another great question. I find it really difficult to label my sound, I like to experiment a lot with instrumentals and vibes, so all in all I’d say I make conscious music you can jam and vibe to.

Q). Is there anybody who you would love to do a track with?

There are a few people actually! I recently discovered Tomi Agape and I really like her voice. Mahalia is also on the list, along with a few people from the Mancunian scene like IAMDDB, Prido and Misha B.

Q). Who is your biggest influence?

I have more than one if have to be honest. Top 3 – in no particular order – would be Bob Marley, Lauryn Hill and Destiny’s Child (I’m a ‘90s baby so most of my inspiration stems from that era)

Q). Why did you choose to get into the music industry?

To be totally honest, I didn’t know I was choosing to get into it at all. I got into the music scene knowing very little about the business and industry side of things; once you do music, however, you’re bound to end up focusing on the other aspects if you want everything to work. So I’d say I made the choice when I chose to distribute my music as far and wide as possible.

Q). What would you say is your biggest achievement in music so far?

There is a few to name. My biggest and most proud moment was when my music was aired on BBC introducing, it was a huge milestone for me because it finally felt like my city noticed me. I’ve also had the opportunity to sing in some beautiful places such as the Philarmonic Hall in Liverpool and most recently Manchester Carnival. These are opportunities that remind me exactly why I’m putting so much work in.

Q). What can we expect from you for the rest of the year?

The Ep has only just come out so I’m mostly focusing on promoting that and getting the songs heard as far and wide as possible. I have a few local events coming up, and I’m hoping to be in London soon too. I’m only just getting started so you can definitely expect more music from me soon.

Q). Do you have any social media for new fans to follow you?

Yes, you can find me on Instagram and twitter under @vivimusicofficial, and of Facebook I have an official page under the name VIVI. Come find me and catch the vibes!
