Q). Hows things with you?

Things are well with me at the moment, can’t complain!

 

Q). Where did the whole Shallise journey all begin?

The journey of Shallise the artist began back in the last year of primary school when I first discovered I could sing. I didn’t take music as seriously as I do now until college and so I started creating music from 2012/2013 but didn’t start releasing music professionally in 2016.

Q). Your single ‘Free’ is available now. Tell us more about that?

Yes my single ‘Free’ is out (featured on my newly released EP ‘T.R.I.A.L.S’) ‘Free’ was written from a transformative space/time in my life in regards to a passionate situation I was in which forced me to grow and accept that it is okay to be vulnerable and to not feel scared or embarrassed to do so no matter what the outcome will be.

 

Q). Whats it like being in the studio with Shallise?

Hmm, what is it like being in the studio with Shallise..one thing about how I record my vocals is I LOVE to stack harmonies, I love having layers (especially in my unreleased music which I’ve been recording this year) I am learning to explore and evolve with my artistry and creativity. - side note, don’t make me laugh before I’m going in for a take because I will have the giggles! 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

 

Q). How would you describe your sound?

I would describe my sound as alternative R&B.

Q). Is there anybody who you would love to do a track with?

There isn’t anyone in particular who I’d love to do a track with at the moment but if I like your sound or think someone is talented I will definitely be open to collaborate for sure!

Q). Who is your biggest influence?

My biggest influence and the reason I started to take singing seriously and most likely learned to develop my singing skills from is Jessie J.

Q). Why did you choose to get into the music industry?

I was going through a hard time in my life where I spent a lot of time alone, this is where I developed my singing skills - music chose me, it helped me through what I was going through and became my number one passion.

 

Q). What would you say is your biggest achievement in music so far?

My biggest achievement in music so far is having the approval/being shown love from Jessie J, JoJo and having Marshall Amplifications follow me on Instagram!

Q). What can we expect from you for the rest of the year?

You can expect a deluxe version of my EP ‘T.R.I.A.L.S’ (Temptations, Realisations, Impulse, Anger, Lust, Seduction) coming in December! Along with a few performances :)
