Q). How things with you?

Things are good! I’m finally starting to tap in to my full potential as a creative so that’s really exciting.

 

Q). Where did the whole Kia May journey all begin?

I think Kia Mays always been here just silenced a lot! I found during lockdown I really found confidence in myself and I just stopped caring
What other people may think or say about me taking music seriously.

Q). Your single ‘On The Floor’ feat. Juvenal Maze is available now. How has the response for that been?

Yes, finally! Its definitely been a journey. The response has been amazing honestly I’m glad people have received it in the way I wanted them to especially as its so different to my other singles.

 

Q). Whats it like being in the studio with Kia May?

Erm I would say fun. You never know what to expect with me to be honest. I could plan on working on a one song and end up working on a completely different one once the sessions started.

 

Q). How would you describe your sound?

Hmmm good question. I would say I’m influenced by Aaliyah her soft tone is something I resignate with. I would say I have a soft soulful sound.

Q). Is there anybody who you would love to do a track with?

Yes! I would definitely say Summer walker or Sza

Q). Who is your biggest influence?

Hands down Aaliyah.

 

Q). Why did you choose to get into the music industry?

Don’t feel like I had a choice music has always been something I’ve gravitated to.

 

Q). What would you say is your biggest achievement in music so far?

Definitely being played on BBC1Xtra by DJ Ace for my first release ‘Believe Me’. I was so proud of that it really gave me that extra confidence.

Q). What can we expect from you for the rest of the year?

I have a few singles coming out and hopefully some live performances.
