B-Dope Q&A

Q). How things with you?
Things are good, keeping busy making music.
Q). Where did the whole B-Dope journey all begin?
Back in NY growing up when I was 12/13 my older brother use to rap and make fun of me in his rhymes. It was around that time I started to practice so I can do the same to him which in turn got me in to battling.
Q). Your single ‘Here 2 Rock’ is available now. How has the response for that been?
The response has been pretty good. people have told me how it gave them that old miami vibe when bass music was big during the 2 live crew/poison clan era.
Q). Whats it like being in the studio with B-Dope?
Depending on the vibe of the song usually sets the tone. i like to match the energy of whatever song i'm doing so if i'm recording a song like Bare Knuckle Boxing I don't want to hear no joking around no laughter just straight dark angry vibes.
Q). How would you describe your sound?
Wow.. So I'm not really sure because my sound tends to change depending on the track, so I guess I would have to say battle orientated bars mixed with real life street tales.
Q). Is there anybody who you would love to do a track with?
Oh most definitely... The Lox, Benny the Butcher, RJ Payne, Fabolous, Grafh and Nino Man just to name a few.
Q). Who is your biggest influence?
Big Daddy Kane.
Q). Why did you choose to get into the music industry?
It was a way for me to do something I loved and was having fun and doing it at the same time.
Q). What would you say is your biggest achievement in music so far?
During my battle days I was back to back source/zulu nation emcee champ in 94/95 along with dj craze wining back to back dj competition
Q). What can we expect from you for the rest of the year?

Melz in Oct "That 88 Shit and another group project with 8ch20wins "88st". Not to mention several videos. Just dropped one for So Proud and the rmx vid in 2 weeks plus a vid for Kendall which is an anthem for the Kendall area.
