Tone Blanco Q&A

Q). Hows things with you?
Yeah, all good thank you, I can’t complain. Thank you for picking to play HANI
Q). Where did the whole Tone Blanco journey all begin?
Tone Blanco itself only started a few years ago as I was going under other names before that.
I released 1 EP under ‘Nicc’ in 2018 called Up In Smoke and before that was ndubblc for the younger days. Tone Blanco came about when I first started working with SYX & Taylor Mayd at S23. The name Tone Blanco is derived from the last couple names.
Q). Your single ‘HANI’ is available now. Tell us more about that?
HANI came about after I had been writing in different styles/genres and I just had some bars to let off. I have to shoutout Bahr Beats for the mix, when I got the first draft back I lost my head. The video was shot outside a run down Burger King I used to work at with Taylor Mayd, doing freestyles in the kitchen about 10 years ago, it’s nice when things come full circle. Big up Connor Plant for the visuals.
Q). Whats it like being in the studio with Tone Blanco?
Pretty calm to be honest, I’m focused on listening, writing or recording there.
Q). How would you describe your sound?
PVersatile, i don’t believe I have one set sound. I don’t feel the same every day so I don’t go for the same song every day.
Q). Is there anybody who you would love to do a track with?
Rick Rubin. Every time.
Q). Who is your biggest influence?
My mates growing up, I was introduced to new artists and styles through borrowing CDs and Bluetooth transfers and all that which has ultimately brought me to my current pallet
Q). Why did you choose to get into the music industry?
An interest became a hobby, which became a passion and here we are
Q). What would you say is your biggest achievement in music so far?
Individually I’d say BBC Introducing Cambridge spotlight artist of the week, that was a nice touch. But the performances and we’ve had as a group with the Sabotage Audio boys and BSP were definitely highlights of my year, it’s been a year of growth.
Q). What can we expect from you for the rest of the year?
There will be more visuals soon with the potential for more, a few things need to be finalised
Q). Do you have any social media for new fans to follow you?
Yeah, instagram @tone.blanco.music or Twitter @onemoretone
