Q). Where did the whole Piff Pennywise JR journey all begin?

My journey begins in the 90s in Maryland. Being around friends who rap and make beats. Started freestyling over industry beats in chyfas. The beginning made me who I am today!

 
Q). Your E.P ‘Sativa’ is available now. Tell us more about that? 

 Yes “Sativa” is out on all streaming platforms and on my Bandcamp (PiFF (Pennywise J.R) (bandcamp.com)This EP is fully produced by my guy F-Plus from Brazil. The art-work is done by Paul P-Ro Rowan. This EP is the first installment to a 3 EP series!

 
Q). What’s it like being in the studio with PiffPennywise JR?

A lot of good weed and water is a must. Tight fitted on and pages of death! Having patients is also key.

 

Q). How would you describe your sound?

I have a different sound depending on the mood and track. I don’t think I sound like anyone particular! I’ve had people say I sound like Prodigy, Nas, Pusha T and a few others!

Q). Is there anybody who you would love to do a track with?

Absolutely, the whole GXFR, Havoc, JR writer, Fabolous, Bossman, Planet Asia, Flee Lord and many more!

Q). Who is your biggest influence? 

I would say Prodigy of (Mobb Deep) was my biggest influencer. Boot Camp Click, Red Man and Meth, Big- L and Stack Bundles all these emcees help me understand the hip hop culture even more.

 

Q). Why did you choose to get into the music industry?

So, coming from the DMV area, music is a part of our everyday life. Club music was he music of choice growing up. Meeting the legendary K-Swift and becoming friends got me into the music. She used to tell me to keep going hard. I started my rap career off of a lot of influence’s.

 

Q). What would you say is your biggest achievement in music so far? 

Dropping 7 EPs in 2021 was the biggest achievement thus far. S/O to all the producers, emcees and artwork artists that help me get to were I’m am. Forever grateful!

 

Q). What can we expect from you for the rest of the year?

Oh! I got a few things coming before the end of the year. October 31st, I got a special anniversary edition coming. Stay tuned, history in the making is what I move on every day!
